WOLF SEEKS A SPIRIT HELPER

Wolf had lived a long life, among the humans.

As he aged he became blind. Most people see blind people and animals as non functional.

Grandfather Chief White Feather knew anyone could see in different ways, and had taught his grandson many things...how Spirit helpers help the blind people and blind animals...

Here is a story about Wolf Boy and his blind Wolf.



"Wolf, you need to go hunt by yourself." said his master. But Wolf  laid there by his side, thinking, "Where I'm going to go to?

I can't see! But I can smell & hear from sound, but I'm old."

"I know a secret place in the Spirit Mountain, that you can fast and wait for a Spirit helper.

Because, you are blind I will guide you there."

Grandfather taught Wolf you must not eat or drink water, while you wait for the Spirit helper.

Next day they left up the mountain to a sacred place where spirits lived.

Wolf wanted to protect his blind Wolf from harm, but he knew his Wolf would have to learn survival on his own.

Seemed like his Wolf would out live him. Wolf knew that every animal and plant had a spirit which the people must respect.

It was a long journey walking up that Mountain.

Finally they came to a place that looked like a place to rest.



"Here we will rest and fast," he said. "The Spirit helpers will come once we have rested and prayed.

When night comes, the spirits will walk among us." But I'm blind thought the Wolf dog. To me its night time all the time.

As night came there was silence. He listened to other noises around him. Suddenly he heard noise of movement coming his way.

He growled, what was that coming his way? The sound alarmed him. Could it be a bear? His keen ears caught the sound of movement closer to him.

My friend Wolf will warn me of danger he thought.

Why am I afraid? I'm a Wolf dog after all.

But I can't see!

Will the Spirit helper come and help a blind Wolf?


He started to remember all the times he played with his friend, and had a good time.

He could smell the food served to him, and hunt with his friend for rabbit. The sound of movement went away... and he fell asleep.

That night Spirit helper came to him, and it was a big White Wolf ...and he spoke to him.

 "I will be your eyes, so you can see through me.

" Now Blind Wolf had met his Spirit helper...White Wolf......
